While we wait for the fuel senders from Skysports, we moved on to the ailerons. We worked most of the weekend on them, and got pretty far. First things first, gather up the parts we'll need. Then cleco stuff together. This was the biggest pain in the butt ever. I really had to work it to get this stuff to fit.

The counterbalance for the ailerons is actually a stainless tube that sits in the curve of the leading edge. at this point, you match drill holes through the aileron nose skin and into the stainless tube with a #40, then a #30 drill bit.

One of the really annoying parts of this section is that you assemble a bit, then take it apart, then assemble a bit more, then take it apart again. paint a bit, rivet a bit, etc. I'm starting to get bummed out about it right about now. I like it much more when you do all the pre-assembly, take it all apart, paint, then rivet. ohh well... at least we get to back rivet the skins. that's kinda fun, and it's been awhile.
