Man - this was a few days of work that seemed like it would never end.   Just a ton of seemingly small crap that all had to get done.  Alright, first things first... install the steps permanently.  We had waited to do that after we fitted the steps, because we had sent out the steps to get zinc coated, then powder coated.  the zinc coating prevents corrosion and preps the metal for powdercoating, and the powdercoat should live longer than paint, and be tougher.  we went with silver, as we expect the paint scheme to be red and silver.  maybe.  heh.  After the step was in, we went about insulating under the baggage floor.  Also, there's a #30 hole that you create in the skin below each step, and the directions say to leave it, but i set a flush rivet in there to close it off.  After that, I put a couple zip tie mounts on the baggage ribs to support the conduit that i'm going to run under the baggage floor.  i didn't want there to be any chance of them coming loose, so i riveted nutplates to screw them to.  After that, I went about the business of making antenna doublers.  The process of getting them in and straight was a challenge.  They're basically a piece of .063 aluminum with some .063 angle riveted to it.  I made two of them for the com antennae, and they are mounted under the rear seats a-la Tim Olson.   After that, we rivet down the baggage floor, and that was that!  Then, we riveted the baggage door frame parts in, and a bunch of nutplates.  YAY.
