more cowl fitting.  cowl off, cowl on.  cowl off, cowl on.  it gets old after awhile.  I got the fit pretty good, and i got all the fasteners installed and stuff.  for the receptacle mounting strips, i used .050 aluminum cut into 2” strips.  that pretty much leaves 1.5” hanging out once you rivet the strips on to the firewall flange.  it works pretty well, and i scalloped the area between the fasteners.  that allows you to bend tabs up or down to really massage the fit.  it was a ton of work, but i like the results, and getting the cowl off and on now is really easy.  i’ve got some more cosmetic work to do, but the mechanical fit is acceptable.  hooray!
