The overhead console.  it’s a bunch of extra work, but i think it’ll be worth it.  first was trying to locate it in the center.  what aggravation.  trying to find something that’s the same from the left side to the right side is nearly impossible.  that makes it similarly impossible to get an exact measurement that means anything.  in the end, I located it as best I could, and drilled #40 and clecoed just to hold it in place.  The instructions say to hold it with clamps and such, but clecoing it was just way easier.  then I decided that it wasn’t straight, and changed the alignment twice more.  whatever.  i finally just went with it, and we mixed up some epoxy thickened with cab-o-sil and stuck it on there.  where there were big gaps, we just blobbed it in there.  the overhead console actually gets pressurized with an air intake by the tail, so the seal needs to be airtight.    nice.  then we mixed up some epoxy and thickened it up with glass bubbles so we could smooth out the transition from the overhead console to the cabin top.  here’s the bummer though.  while we were working, the can of hardener fell off the table, and the super special measuring pump broke...  Well, sort of.  it still worked, but didn’t measure out the right amount of hardener.  so we mixed up this huge batch of filler, slathered it all over everything, and it never hardened.  CRAP.  we waited for a week, and no luck.  it was still soft.  we’ll have to scrape it all off and start again.
