Now we're getting somewhere! After everything's primed - and that's a ton of priming - we start riveting the fuselage structure together. Starting at the back, we rivet the longerons (big long angles that run the length of the aircraft) to the seat-back brace. Then you basically move forward riveting the understructure. The toughest part of this step is riveting the firewall brackets to the understructure. I really wonder what the designers think - it's impossible to get a rivet set on a couple of these rivets without clearancing some of the structure around it. I read somewhere that that's how they do it in the quickbuild factories, so that's what i did. carefully. Then it's on to riveting the side skins on. rivet rivet rivet. rivet some more. If you just keep going, eventually you'll finish. neato.
