Harrumph. that's what i have to say about fitting the landing gear mounts. that's the big white looking thing in the pics. It was definitely an exercise in patience. Installing the thing, looking for interference, then taking it out, gently clearancing where it was rubbing, re-install, repeat, thrash around trying to get bolts in and out, scrape knuckles, smash fingers, jump up and down, brood, etc. I guess some people had really good luck with the mounts just falling into place. not I. Grrr. Anyway, after we got that licked, we just had to drill a couple holes for the nutplates that mount one of the gear braces on a rib in the floor. Finally, there's one last seat mount that gets fabricated and bolted to the landing gear mount. after it all fits, you pull the whole shebang out. The floor needs to go in before the gear mount can be put in there permanently. oh, and there is a picture of what looks suspiciously like the battery tray in this group of pictures, and there's a great reason for it. When fitting the landing gear mount, there's a spacer that needs to be made out of .063 aluminum, and i couldn't find any in the kit. Luckily, i had screwed up this battery tray made of .063 many moons ago, and had it laying around as scrap. so the spacers are made of screwed up battery tray. Don't worry, long ago i made a new battery tray that's been living quietly in the tailcone for some time now.
