So after a little priming party, the forward fuse gets riveted together.  it kind of seems like everything is awkward to rivet these days.  whatever.  maybe i'm just getting suckier at stuff.  anyway, set a bunch of rivets, and the thing is complete.  Cool!  after that, we went and got the tailcone out of the bedroom (that's where we've been keeping it!) and got ready to attach it to the fuselage.  this seems like a pretty big deal.  suddenly, the aircraft is going to double in length, and it really makes it look like an airplane!  So we got out some boxes, and pillows, and whatever else we could pile up high enough, so that we could align the fuselage with the tailcone.  it's really a two person job, so i had Bethany pushing the tailcone from the back, kind of holding it in position, and i was rolling around underneath the thing on a creeper making sure everything was in the right position.  I think we had it together and apart about three times before we got everything right.  there's a picture of the tailcone longerons below, and one thing we figured out is that we had to trim that a bit for everything to fit.  Not sure why we had left it overly long, but ultimately not a big deal.  Also, it allowed us to get a perfect fit there.  finally, what i ended up doing was using a bit of ductape just to hold one side once i got the tailcone slipped into position, then rolling over to the other side and getting that side into position.  After we got it clecoed together, just a bunch of match drilling.
